Steps to apply for readmission

1. Review readmission requirements

   Readmission requirements vary depending on the circumstances in which you left OSU.

   • I left in good standing

     Hours attempted	Required GPA
     1-30 credit hours	1.7
     31+ credit hours	2.0

   • I left on probation or suspension

     If you left the university on probation or suspension you may be required to submit a readmission petition and undergo the readmission appeal process. This process includes a review of your academic record and gives an opportunity to explain why past academic performance is not indicative of ability to succeed.

     The readmission petition form is available via your application portal after an admission decision has been made. Forms must be submitted by noon the Thursday before the start of the term for which you have applied.

   • I'm a returning service member whose enrollment was interrupted due to full time active duty service obligations

     Undergraduate students returning from a military leave of absence should submit a Notification of Intent to Re-Enroll for Students on Military Leave of Absence form at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the intended term of enrollment. Learn more. 

2. Complete your application and submit transcripts (if applicable)

   The admissions portal is where you'll:

   • Complete your application 
   • Submit transcripts (required only if you completed coursework since leaving OSU)

   Once you've set up an account, you can log back in at any time to complete your application or check your admission status.

   Your readmission application is also your application for continuing student scholarships.

3. Pay $50 application fee

   A $50 nonrefundable application fee is required to apply for readmission.

4. Apply for federal financial aid

   When you apply to OSU, you are automatically considered for scholarships. Once available, OSU encourages all students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using OSU's school code of 003170 to maximize scholarship and financial aid opportunities.

   If you live in a participating southern state, you may qualify for in-state tuition through the Academic Common Market.
