Application Deadlines
All application materials and documents, such as updated test scores or transcripts,
must be submitted by these deadlines for final consideration.

Fall-entering students
These important dates and deadlines will help keep you on track if you plan on attending OSU in the fall. See dates and deadlines for spring-entering students.
- July 1 - OSU Application opens
Students who have completed their junior year in high school, or transfer students, can begin applying for the upcoming year.

Aug. 1 - Common Application opens (freshmen only)
All incoming first-time international freshmen applying for undergraduate admission to OSU can start the Common App for the upcoming year.
- Nov. 1 - Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline (freshmen)
The Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline is Nov. 1, and all scholarship materials must be submitted by Feb. 1 to ensure scholarship consideration for fall-entering students. Learn more about international scholarships.
- Dec. 1 - Enrollment deposit opens (freshmen only)
Once admitted, your $300 enrollment deposit secures your spot at OSU and allows you to register for housing and orientation and enrollment in the spring. Room assignments will be based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit.
The enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until May 1.
- Feb. 1 - Priority Scholarship Deadline (freshmen)
You must submit all application materials (including the essay and leadership and involvement resume) by this deadline for full scholarship consideration at OSU. Learn more about completing your file.
- Feb. 1 - Orientation and enrollment registration opens
Once you have submitted your enrollment deposit, it is time to register for your required orientation and enrollment session. During your session, you will meet with academic advisors, confirm your academic college and major, enroll in classes, meet other new students and learn about campus resources.
- Feb. 1 - Housing registration opens
Once you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for housing and apply for one of our Living Learning Programs.
You will select your housing preferences at this time, and we will begin making room assignments in the spring based on your preferences and the date/time you submitted your enrollment deposit. Explore your living options.
At this time, you will also choose your meal plan.
All incoming first-time freshmen are required to live in OSU housing. Learn more about housing exemptions.
Please note, transfer students are not required to live in OSU housing and are not guaranteed an OSU housing assignment. Transfer students can register for housing and select housing preferences and will be placed on a waitlist. We'll notify transfers by June 1 of their OSU housing status.
- April 1 - Transfer Priority Scholarship Deadline
You must submit all application materials by this deadline for full scholarship consideration at OSU.
- Late April - Room assignments begin
Room assignments start in late spring and continue through the summer. Your assignment is based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit.
Check your OSU email address often for important information and updates.
- May 1 - College decision day
Some scholarships and financial aid must be accepted by May 1 or they will be canceled.
The enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until May 1. You can submit your enrollment deposit beginning Dec. 1 by logging in to your application portal.
- Friday before classes start - Final Scholarship Deadline
Last day to update test scores or transcripts for final scholarship consideration.
Spring-entering students
Here are the important dates and deadlines for students entering OSU in the spring semester.
- July 1 - OSU Application opens
