Dates and Deadlines
At Oklahoma State, we accept applications on a rolling admission basis, so there's no application deadline. We encourage you to apply early, however, to give yourself the best opportunities for early housing selection and scholarship consideration.
Fall-entering students
These important dates and deadlines will help keep you on track if you plan on attending OSU in the fall. For spring-entering students, see the dates and deadlines at the bottom of the page.

July 1 - OSU Application opens
Students who have completed their junior year in high school, or transfer students, can begin applying for the upcoming year.

Aug. 1 - Common Application opens
All incoming first-time freshman students can begin applying for the upcoming year.

Nov. 1 - Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline
The Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline is Nov. 1, and all scholarship materials must be submitted by Feb. 1 to ensure scholarship consideration for fall-entering students. Learn more about completing your file.
- Dec. 1 - FAFSA opens
The FAFSA will become fully available to all students and families by Dec. 1. Once available, you and your student should fill out the FAFSA using OSU's school code of 003170 to maximize scholarship and financial aid opportunities.

Dec. 1 - Enrollment Deposit Opens
Once admitted, your $300 enrollment deposit secures your spot at OSU and gets you in line for registration for orientation and enrollment. Your deposit also secures your spot in line for housing. Room assignments will be based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit. Your enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until May 1.
Students who are eligible for a Pell Grant, Fee Wavier or Oklahoma's Promise can complete the online process and have the enrollment deposit deferred.

Feb. 1 - Priority scholarship deadline
You must submit all application materials (including the essay portion) by this deadline for full scholarship consideration at OSU.

Feb. 1 - Orientation & enrollment registration opens
Once you've submitted your enrollment deposit, it's time to register for an orientation and enrollment session, required for all new OSU students. Sessions begin in late spring and run through the summer. During your session, you will meet with academic advisors, confirm your academic college and major, enroll in classes, meet other new students and learn about campus resources.

Feb. 1 - Housing registration opens
Once you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for housing and apply for one of our Living Learning Programs.
You'll select your housing preferences at this time, and we'll begin making room assignments in the spring based on your preferences and the date/time you submitted your enrollment deposit. Explore your living options.
At this time, you'll also choose your meal plan.

Late April - Receive your room assignment
Room assignments start in late spring and continue through the summer. Your assignment is based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit.
Check your OSU email address often for important information and updates.

May 1 - College Decision Day*
We encourage you to complete your enrollment deposit and register for housing and orientation by May 1.
Some scholarships and financial aid must be accepted by May 1 or they will be canceled.
Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by May 1 to cancel your enrollment and receive a partial refund ($250) of your enrollment deposit.

Friday before classes start - Final scholarship deadline
Last day to submit application materials, such as updated test scores or transcripts, for final scholarship consideration.
Spring-entering students
Here are the important dates and deadlines for students entering OSU in the spring semester.

The U.S Department of Education announced a new process for the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Starting Oct. 1., the FAFSA will open for a limited number of students and will become fully available to all students and families by Dec. 1. You and your student should fill out the FAFSA using OSU's school code of 003170 as soon as possible to maximize scholarship and financial aid opportunities.

Orientation is mandatory for new students.

Dec. 1 - Housing registration opens
Once you’ve completed your enrollment deposit, admitted students can complete their housing registration and select their housing preferences. Room assignments for spring-entering will be made throughout December.

Dec. 15 - Enrollment Deposit Refund Deadline
The enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until Dec. 15. You can submit your enrollment deposit beginning Sept. 1 by logging in to your application portal.
