State, Stillwater leaders announce nonstop American Airlines service to Dallas/Fort Worth

The City of Stillwater, American Airlines and Oklahoma State University announced the arrival of nonstop American Airlines jet service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport during an overflow event at Stillwater Regional Airport. “Oklahoma State sees tremendous opportunity to reduce air travel costs, improve efficiencies and greatly enhance personal travel for our students and employees,” said OSU President Burns Hargis.
OSU unveils state-of-the-art equine center

OSU President Burns Hargis, OSU Regents and others helped celebrate the opening of the Charles and Linda Cline Equine Teaching Center, a multi-million-dollar center featuring a teaching barn, small indoor arena, classrooms and more. “Students need proper facilities to succeed,” said Hargis. “The Clines are a wonderful example of donors with a passion for students realizing that need and stepping forward to make a difference. I want to thank them for their vision and investment.”
OSU President Burns Hargis receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Leadership Oklahoma

Oklahoma State President Burns Hargis received Leadership Oklahoma’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual Excellence in Leadership Gala in Oklahoma City. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have used their leadership abilities to improve the quality of life for Oklahoma's residents and its future generations. Hargis has had several high-profile and impactful roles in the leadership of Oklahoma, including key positions in higher education, banking and the law.
OSU honored for diversity efforts and praised as exemplary model

To recognize its progress in promoting and sustaining innovative diversity efforts, OSU earned the Institutional Excellence Award for 2016 from the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. The organization’s president said OSU is “one of higher education’s exemplary models.” OSU President Burns Hargis said, “We are honored to receive this award” and “more committed than ever to ensuring that everyone who comes to our campus feels welcome, respected and valued.”
Ross and Billie McKnight give $25 million to establish Performing Arts Programming Endowment

OSU’s planned performing arts center received a major boost with a $25 million gift from alumni Ross and Billie McKnight to establish a programming endowment. The 93,000-square-foot center will be named The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts at Oklahoma State University. “This visionary gift from the McKnights will ensure our new performing arts center truly maximizes the opportunities for cultural enrichment that the magnificent modern facility will afford,” said OSU President Burns Hargis.
OSU among top schools for scholarships and fellowships

A new survey ranks Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus among the top 100 in the nation for providing scholarships and fellowships to help students fund their education. The GoodCall 2016 Best Schools for Scholarships Report ranks OSU 76 among 4,000 U.S. public colleges and universities with the total number of scholarships and fellowships at OSU providing an average of more than $4,000 per student.
OSU hits record enrollment for undergraduate students on Stillwater campus

Undergraduate enrollment on the OSU-Stillwater campus reached 20,277, an all-time high. In addition, the total undergraduate enrollment for Stillwater/Tulsa is up slightly to an all-time high of 21,093. Total enrollment for OSU-Stillwater is 24,387 and total enrollment for OSU-Stillwater/Tulsa is 25,594. This year’s enrollment figures include the third largest freshman class in OSU history of 4,156.
Oklahoma State named among Healthiest Colleges in the U.S.

Oklahoma State University has been named to greatist.com’s “The Healthiest Colleges in the U.S.” list for its dedication to student health as well as its unique student health and wellness programs. OSU was acknowledged for health efforts in student nutrition, fitness and mental health. Camp Redlands and The OSU Pet Therapy Program were highlighted as two unique campus approaches to physical and mental wellness.
Anonymous donor gives $1 million for next-generation engineering and technology lab

Thanks to a $1 million leadership gift from an anonymous donor and a matching contribution from the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, OSU broke ground on the Undergraduate Engineering and Technology Laboratory Building. It will support interdisciplinary learning and address Oklahoma’s shortage of engineers. Engineering enrollment at OSU has doubled in the past decade, creating a critical need for modern laboratories.
North Dining Facility focuses on healthy eating and holds grand opening

OSU President Burns Hargis and First Cowgirl Ann joined a grand opening ceremony for Oklahoma State’s new North Dining Facility. The facility is part of the University Commons residential area and features seven distinctive dining choices, with a focus on healthy, fresh options. The mission of the dining facility is to provide indulgent food options while supporting the university’s standard of being America’s Healthiest Campus®.
