OSU unveils inaugural exhibit at Postal Plaza Gallery

The OSU Museum of Art unveiled the first formal exhibition at the Postal Plaza Gallery, introducing the campus, community and region to the vibrant art history of Oklahoma and beyond while connecting students to broader experiences. The Postal Plaza Gallery, located in the historic former Stillwater post office downtown, is a space for student learning, faculty research and community outreach, raising awareness for the visual arts and providing cultural experiences in Stillwater.
$1.45 million grant brings highly successful UTeach program to OSU

OSU announced a $1.45 million grant from the National Math and Science Initiative to replicate UTeach, which is addressing the nation’s science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education crisis by producing qualified math and science teachers across the country. “It is an honor to be selected as the only UTeach university in our state, allowing us to carry out our land-grant mission by helping transform K-12 STEM education throughout Oklahoma,” said OSU President Burns Hargis.
OSU/A&M Regents approve block tuition plan for Oklahoma State University

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved OSU’s request to introduce a block tuition plan for the fall semester. The new plan, called “Finish in Four,” offers a flat rate for tuition and university-wide fees for full-time undergraduate students taking 12 to 18 hours in a semester. “We are pleased to introduce this block tuition model for our students,” said OSU President Burns Hargis. “It is designed to help students graduate quicker, while potentially reducing the total cost of an OSU degree.”
American Heart Association names OSU a fit-friendly, innovative workplace

The American Heart Association recognized Oklahoma State University as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite and awarded OSU the Worksite Innovation Award. The award honors OSU for going above and beyond when it comes to employees’ health. The honors single out employers that fulfill criteria such as promoting and supporting physical activity, increasing healthy eating options at work and promoting a wellness culture.
OSU launches nation's most comprehensive, university-wide pet therapy program

Backed by 13 lovable, highly trained dogs, OSU launched Pete’s Pet Posse, the nation’s most comprehensive, full-time, university-wide pet therapy program. “As America’s Healthiest Campus® one of our biggest priorities is the emotional health and wellbeing of our students, faculty and staff. The dogs from Pete’s Pet Posse have already made an impact on the emotional health of the OSU campus and we’ve only just begun,” said Ann Hargis, OSU First Lady and a Pete’s Pet Posse handler.
OSU First Lady Ann Hargis earns top state honor

Oklahoma State University First Cowgirl Ann Hargis was named 2014 Woman of the Year by The Journal Record for her leadership in business and community service. Organizers said she “is another shining example of a talented, multifaceted woman who is truly making a difference. Ann took her own personal journey to wellness, then decided to share that with others, and as a result, she is leading change for Oklahoma and the nation, helping others to improve their health.”
OSU announces plans to build new Performing Arts Center in Stillwater

Burns Hargis announced that OSU will build a nearly $60 million Performing Arts Center and home for the Department of Music on the south side of the Stillwater campus. More than $16 million in gifts and commitments have been received to date. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Oklahoma State and the region,” said Hargis. “There is a growing understanding of the importance of the arts and culture across campus and how vital they are to the education we aspire to provide at OSU.”
OSU celebrates opening of Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center

The Oklahoma State men's and women's tennis teams held a celebration and dedication for the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center. The new indoor/outdoor facility is a transformative boost to OSU tennis. By May 2016, OSU’s women marched to the NCAA finals, falling to perennial power Stanford, 4-3. Thanks to the Greenwood Tennis Center, OSU will host the 2020 men’s and women’s NCAA Tennis Championship.
EPA honors Oklahoma State University for green power leadership

Oklahoma State University is recognized as a national leader for its use of green power practices and technology with a Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. OSU is one of only four organizations nationwide to be chosen as a Green Power Partner of the Year for leadership, overall strategy and impact on the green power market. OSU also is the only educational organization awardee across all categories.
OSU announces new University College to facilitate student success

The OSU/A&M Board of Regents approved the creation of the University College at Oklahoma State University, which will coordinate university-level services that support undergraduate level student success. The University College, which is not an academic college, will consist of four units: University College Advising, which includes the Student Lasso Center; Transfer and Veterans Academic Services; P-12 Academic Partnerships; and Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research.
