What is community and regional analysis?

The community and regional analysis option provides an understanding of local rural economic development in the public or private sector.

Why community and regional analysis?

If you have a passion for building relationships and creating plans to help with physical and economic changes, as well as quality of life issues in small and growing communities, community and regional analysis is for you.

Hands-on experience

You’ll receive a hands-on education, which may include job shadowing, development of economic models, interviews with department alumni and real-world project experience such as farm real estate appraisal and marketing feasibility of products for a real firm.

 

Fast fact

Agricultural Economics partnered with China Agricultural University (CAU) in 2011 to provide students the opportunity to study and benefit from the academic and cultural environment of both institutions. CAU students may obtain a degree from both institutions, and OSU students also have the opportunity to study at CAU for a semester or year.
