See next steps for transfers entering in the spring semester

Next steps for summer/fall entering students:

  • 1. Receive Your I-20 and Complete Your SEVIS Transfer

Students living outside of the U.S.

Once all your documents are processed and you are admitted, you will receive your electronic I-20 by email.

It is very important to enter the United Sates with the proper visa. You must apply for a visa in order to enter the United States with student status.

Use your SEVIS number on your Form I-20 to pay the SEVIS fee and apply for a visa.

More details about applying for a visa

    Students living in the U.S.

If you are currently in the U.S. on an F-1 visa, your current institution must transfer your I-20/SEVIS record to OSU before we can issue your Transfer I-20.

Please refer to the SEVIS Transfer Request email that you received from us. Upon completion, you will receive your OSU transfer I-20 via email.

If you plan to travel out of the U.S during the break, you cannot re-enter the U.S. using your previous institution's I-20 after your SEVIS record has been transferred

  • 2. Create Your O-Key Account and Check Your Emails

Your O-Key account is your passport to campus. You have to set it up before you can access your OSU email account, accept your scholarships and financial aid, sign up for housing, register for classes and more.

    • Tulsa ONLY: Once you have activated your O-Key account, you will be given internet access through CHS_SECURE or CHS_Guest

To use your O-Key, you'll also have to set up multifactor authentication using Duo Security. For help setting up your account, visit it.okstate.edu or contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@okstate.edu or +1 405-744-4357.

  • 3. Register for Orientation and Enrollment

All undergraduate international students are required to attend an orientation and enrollment program. The program requires a $100 non-refundable fee, which can be paid at registration or through your fall Bursar bill.

Visit the orientation and enrollment website for more information.

    • Tulsa ONLY: Center for Health Sciences (CHS) students must reach out to their faculty advisor and contact Sarah Vizza at sarah.vizza@okstate.edu to begin enrolling for classes.

Registration opens 8 a.m. CT on February 1.

  • 4. Register for Housing

Transfer students are NOT required to live in OSU housing. You may choose to live off-campus.

If you choose to live on campus, please know that an OSU housing assignment is NOT guaranteed.

A limited number of on-campus housing spaces are available for admitted transfer students who meet the April 1 Priority Housing Registration Deadline. While those who register for housing after April 1 will be placed on a standby list and may be assigned OSU housing based on availability, it’s recommended you make alternate housing plans.

  • 5. Check for any Enrollment Holds

International transcripts are considered official if they are submitted to our office in ONE of the following formats:
