What is global studies?

The Global Studies degree at OSU educates you on local and global topics while learning about contemporary cultures and working with people in diverse backgrounds.

Why global studies at OSU?

With a global studies degree at OSU, you will gain a variety of skills, including a deep understanding of the institutions and processes that shape the world. Our goal is to increase your cross-cultural knowledge and understanding, as well as strengthen your verbal and written communications skills. You will have the option to fulfill course requirements with either a semester study abroad or a shorter one- or two-week course led by department faculty through the Oklahoma State Study Abroad Office.

Career paths

Students majoring in Global Studies pursue jobs within the United States and abroad. They seek careers with local, state or federal agencies, in the private sector, or with non-governmental and charitable organizations. A Global Studies major is also a good way to prepare for law school or graduate study.
