The management information systems option in information assurance uses the expertise in the department that led OSU to be named
a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research
by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security.
Why information assurance?
This option provides students with in-depth study and hands-on analysis of critical
organizational issues in information assurance and cyber security. By pursuing the option in information assurance, students will have the opportunity
to take courses in data communications systems, digital forensics, auditing, system
certification and accreditation.

needs via both our undergraduate and graduate level programs. The programs through
the Management Science and Information Systems Department stress the real-world, business

Security and Assurance Club, which educates students on evolving information security
threats and mitigation techniques, as well as advance marketability for employment
