What is fashion merchandising?

Integrate the art of creative expression with the science of marketing and operations management as you build fashion merchandising skills with a digital emphasis. Using critical industry software applications, you will learn to present products in a visually compelling way both online and in-store, analyze and display important data, develop new product assortments, source products from the global marketplace, measure market trends, correctly price and reduce items and ensure sustainable bottom-line business results.

Prepare for your dream job and gain invaluable experience through required professional  internships with companies such as Anthropologie, Ralph Lauren, Target, Steve Madden and others.

Curriculum

We offer two industry-driven emphasis areas — buying and planning and visual merchandising. The program's cutting-edge curriculum is shaped and supported by an advisory board consisting of 21 independent business owners and corporate leaders from companies such as Leg Apparel, GERBER Technology, Walmart, Target, VF Corporation and Global Brands. Our faculty have extensive retail experience in the global marketplace.

 

Scholarships

In addition to scholarships from the OSU College of Education and Human Sciences, you are eligible to apply for Fashion Scholarship Fund scholarships, totaling $1.2 million annually.
