The Arts Administration program is designed for students who love art, but are more
interested in the business side of the industry. If you want to pursue a career in
communications, marketing, fundraising or programming in a fun, arts-related industry,
this is definitely the program for you.
Why arts administration at OSU?
If you are interested in the business side of art, you can choose to major in arts
administration with an emphasis in Art History, Studio Art, Dance, or Theatre. Working
with the Gardiner Art Gallery, the OSU Museum of Art, and the Theatre Department,
these experiences will allow you to graduate not only with a degree, but also with
real-world, hands-on experience in your field.
Arts Administration provides you with the instruction needed to successfully run a
robust arts producing organization. This degree helps you develop strong communication
skills — written, spoke, and visual — and gives you experience in problem solving
and analysis. A B.A. in Arts Administration couples a high degree of appreciation
for the arts with administrative and business acumen to prepare you for a career in:
Box Office Management
Public Arts Management
