The Arts Administration program is designed for students who love art, but are more
interested in the business side of the industry. If you want to pursue a career in
communications, marketing, fundraising or programming in a fun, arts-related industry,
this is definitely the program for you.
Why arts administration at OSU?
If you are interested in the business side of art, you can choose to major in arts
administration with an emphasis in Art History, Studio Art, Dance, or Theatre. Working
with the Gardiner Art Gallery, the OSU Museum of Art, and the Theatre Department,
these experiences will allow you to graduate not only with a degree, but also with
real-world, hands-on experience in your field.
A degree in the arts allows you to develop strong communication skills – written,
spoken, and visual – and gives you experience in problem solving and analysis. Art
students develop the ability to manage multiple projects and work successfully in

Students play a vital role in every aspect of the OSU Museum of Art’s operation. We
offer opportunities that allow students to be involved in all areas of museum work
such as installing exhibitions, writing labels, working with faculty to design exhibitions,
and helping with the day-to-day operations by serving as guards and working in visitor
