The Master of Science in Design and Merchandising, option in Merchandising, builds
your skill set through coursework that focuses on integrating theory and research
in the merchandising field. A master’s degree is an industry-recognized professional
qualification that can help you advance your career in business or prepare you for teaching in higher education.
Our industry-based curricula is taught by nationally recognized faculty in fully equipped
design studios and classrooms. The master’s program requires 30 credit hours for completion and a traditional research thesis.

Research in the Department of Design and Merchandising includes technology related applications on garments, consumer behavior, labeling,
eye tracking, sustainability and more. Our laboratories feature virtual and augmented reality software and equipment, including
eye-tracker and psychophysiological equipment and 3D printing capabilities. The Gerber Technology Fashiontech Design and Development Center houses cutting-edge, computer-aided design programs, cutters, printers and digitizers.
Students may be eligible for graduate assistantships. Currently enrolled students
are also eligible for scholarships offered through the College of Education and Human
Sciences.
