Ph.D. in Business for Executives

This AACSB-accredited Ph.D. in Business Administration is tailored to executives’ and working professionals’ demanding schedules, allowing them to earn their degree while maintaining full-time careers. This intensive program is designed to develop innovative, evidence-based leaders by applying science to business practice through a rich research-based curriculum.

Curriculum & format

  • The program is offered in a hybrid format with recorded lectures, virtual class meetings, and 3-day monthly residencies (9 per year) on our Stillwater campus.
  • The 60-credit hour program is designed to be completed in 3 years over a total of 9 semesters while attending fall, spring, summer terms.
  • Core curriculum covers organizational behavior, strategic management, marketing, data analytics, entrepreneurship, theory, and a comprehensive spectrum of research methods and statistics.
  • Courses are taught by senior researchers and instructors from Spears School of Business.
  • Students complete a year-long group applied research practicum with the intent to publish.
  • Doctoral dissertations are conducted one-on-one with a faculty research advisor.

Admissions & requirements

  • Extensive industry and managerial experience.
  • Keen understanding of current challenges faced by organizations and leaders.
  • Proven leadership, astute critical thinking, and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Distinguished academic record with a master’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • GMAT or GRE is not required.

Cost & assistance

The cost if completed in three years is $129,000. Required books, software, and materials are included in the cost of the program. Students are responsible for travel, lodging, and meals with the exception of some lunches, breaks, and occasional receptions during residencies.
