Accelerate your career with a DBA

Set yourself apart with a Doctorate of Business Administration from the Spears School of Business. This intensive program is tailored to working professionals and designed to develop innovative, evidence-based leaders by applying research methods to create practical business solutions. You will acquire the skills necessary to solve strategic business problems and keep up with the fast-paced change occurring in industry today. Spears is an AACSB-accredited and an R1 research institution offering guidance and mentorship from expert faculty to enhance your executive learning experience.

Curriculum & format

  • Program is offered in a hybrid format with recorded lectures, virtual class meetings and 2-day monthly residencies (9 per year) on our Stillwater campus.
  • 60-credit hours may be completed in just over 3 years (total of 10 semesters) while attending fall, spring and summer terms.
  • Nine hours of concentration electives are offered in a student’s area of interest.
  • Courses are taught by senior researchers and practitioner faculty from the Spears School of Business.
  • Doctoral dissertations are accomplished in the third year via independent study under the close supervision of a faculty research advisor.

 

Admissions & requirements

  • Keen understanding of challenges faced by leaders and organizations today
  • Astute critical thinking and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Distinguished academic record with undergraduate and master’s degrees from an accredited university
  • GMAT or GRE not required
  • TOEFL or IELTS required only if English is a second language

 

Cost & assistance

The cost if completed in 10 semesters is $129,000. Required books, materials and selected software are included in the cost of the program. Students are responsible for travel, lodging and meals except for some lunches, breaks and occasional receptions during residencies.
