Get certified in program evaluation

This graduate certificate is designed for students who hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and seek to gain a critical understanding of key educational program evaluation techniques, including qualitative inquiry.

Overview

In this program, you will gain practice in carrying out a real-life program evaluation, including how to plan and design evaluations and logic models.

 

Successful completion of this certificate program requires 12 credit hours (four courses) of graduate-level coursework in the research, evaluation, measurement and statistics (REMS) program. Credit hours are transferable to additional graduate degree programs.

Coursework

Courses are delivered on the OSU Stillwater campus with many courses available online.

 

Required (nine credit hours):

  • REMS 5013: Research Methods 
  • REMS 6373: Program Evaluation I
  • REMS 6383: Program Evaluation II

Elective (three credit hours - select one of the following):

  • SCFD 5913: Introduction to Qualitative Inquiry
  • SCFD 6123: Qualitative Research I

Admissions Requirements and Deadlines

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of admission status within four to six weeks of submission.

 

To apply for the program, submit the following:

  • Graduate College application
  • Transcripts from all previously attended institutions (undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a minimum 3.0 GPA required; admission with qualifications may be considered)
