This graduate certificate provides a unique path for students seeking to gain advanced
knowledge to excel in modern competitive retail, fashion, interior design and merchandising
industries.
Students develop skills in analyzing data; implementing business strategies; creating
flexible promotional campaigns; maintaining sustainability and engaging in global
sourcing, production and trade.
Successful completion of the certificate program requires 12 credit hours (four courses)
of graduate-level coursework. Credit hours are transferable to additional graduate degree programs.
Courses in the fully online program are delivered through Canvas, OSU's online learning platform. We facilitate peer-to-peer collaboration and community
building using technology.

DHM 5303: Sociological, Psychological and Economic Aspects of Consumer Behavior
DHM 5623: Professional Advancement
DHM 5113: Theories of Creative Process in Design and Merchandising
Elective (three credit hours - select one of the following):

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for fall, spring or summer. Applicants
are strongly encouraged to submit application materials at least three months prior
to the preferred starting term. An applicant’s file will be reviewed when all materials
have been received by the OSU Graduate College. Students will be notified of the admission
decision within four to six weeks.
Transcripts from all previously attended institutions (undergraduate degree from an
accredited university; admission with qualifications may be considered)
