Leading by Example

Ella Powell knew from a young age that she wanted to be in the performing arts. As a daughter of Union High School’s drama teacher, she grew up around the theater. She was offered numerous scholarships to attend universities around the state, but was extremely impressed by how members of the OSU faculty took a personal interest in her abilities and ambitions.

OSU has a unique approach to developing majoring in theater, collaborating with them to discover their passion. Right from the beginning, Ella found ways to go over and above for the program – teaching herself graphic design to create posters for OSU theater productions. Here Ella has found a love for directing and writing plays, and is working to create, act in and produce incredible experiences in the Theater Department, one of many departments dedicated to performing arts on campus.

That’s how we build Cowboys.
