A Cowboy, Without Question
A Cambridge Scholar Takes Flight.
Meet Cole Replogle.
Inspired to become an inventor at a young age, he knew studying engineering would be his path in life. Chess, robotics and other STEM programs supplemented his public school education in Coweta and Broken Arrow, Okla., as did the eventual pre-engineering classes he took at Tulsa Technology Center.
Impressed by the hands-on research opportunities, Cole only applied to OSU’s engineering program when it came time for higher education.
“Other schools could tell me what they were doing in their program,” he said. “But OSU could show me. That was a big difference.”
Now a senior in the top 1% of his class, Cole is also the recipient of the prestigious Gates Cambridge scholarship, which only 25 students nationwide receive. His future plans include working in research and development for a major aerospace engine manufacturer, with the hope of developing electric engines. With his Cambridge Ph.D. in hand, he’d also love to be back in the classroom someday, giving back and helping students like him achieve their dreams. That’s how we build Cowboys.
