Student Conduct
The conduct process provides accountability
The student conduct process is the university-led process to hold a student accountable
for violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Violations can include sexual harassment,
sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking, as well as other
violations. The location of the of an incident does not limit the ability of the submission
of a complaint. Oklahoma State University is committed to protecting students on and
off campus.
The Student Conduct Process
The Student Conduct process is just one of many processes designed to protect victims of sexual violence. The process includes the following actions from all parties involved:
A conduct process is initiated when the affected party files an online complaint. After the complaint is processed, an investigation will begin into the alleged events, including an interview with the complainant and the respondent. An investigation report will be compiled and fact-checked with all interviewees. Afterwards, a Student Conduct Committee Hearing Panel, comprised of a faculty member, staff member, and student, will hear the investigation report, perspectives from the complainant and respondent. The hearing panel will then determine if it is more likely than not that a violation of the Student Code of Conduct occurred. Throughout the process all parties encouraged to have a person of support as an advisor.
Oklahoma State University will not tolerate retaliation against good-faith complaints or people who participate in an investigation process.
