A landmark year at Oklahoma State University

Monday, June 27, 2022

Cowboy family,

The 2021-2022 academic year was defined by incredible university accomplishments and challenges. Whether it was navigating a new iteration of COVID-19 or athletic conference realignment, we overcame these obstacles together and are poised to build on our shared success.

My goal is for OSU to become the nation’s premier land-grant university. We’ve hit milestones this year that are positioning us to become just that. Thanks to a combined $50 million donation, we opened the Hamm Institute for American Energy at Oklahoma State University. We also announced the formation of the Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education and celebrated the grand opening of the new Greenwood School of Music.

In so many areas, OSU is the clear higher education leader in Oklahoma.

The strategy process that is underway will guide Oklahoma State University in the years to come, solidifying our path to improve the state, nation and world through teaching, research and outreach. The process has been steadily moving forward, and I’m excited about what's ahead. Below you’ll find a list of some of the outstanding achievements which have advanced our institution this year.

Our future is bright. Thank you for all you’ve done for the Cowboy family over the past year. Living by the Cowboy Code, we are stronger together. We’ve shown this time and again. There is no limit to what we can accomplish, and I’m honored to work alongside each of you.

Thank you,
Dr. Kayse Shrum
President
