Arts Facilities at OSU
Museums
Housed in a former post office, the OSU Museum of Art is the university’s official exhibition hall for art, and the host of paintings, photographs, and unique art from around the world.
Art in the Student Union includes many paintings and art pieces by OSU alumni, faculty, students, and Native American artists like ‘Woody’ Big Bow. The Student Union also has a rotating exhibition in the Student Union Gallery in the basement.
Within the Bartlett Visual Arts Center, the Gardiner Gallery of Art hosts the art of students, traveling artists, and faculty in many exhibitions throughout the year.
Performing Arts Facilities/ Theaters
McKnight Performing Arts Center
The McKnight Center is a world-class epicenter for the arts, attracting celebrated national and international programs featuring notable performing arts productions and artists.
Within the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts, the 600-seat Vivia Locke Theatre includes an orchestra pit, a flyspace, and modern stage technology.
Seats 75, and often showcases student directed and designed plays. The Davis Theatre also hosts a number of acting and directing classes.
The location of all costume design, construction courses and labs within the Department of Theatre.
The Scene Lab is the location of all stage construction courses and labs. It is fully equipped with wood and steel working machinery for set and property construction.
The Design Lab, which features both PC and Mac computers, is equipped with the latest design software and large format printers.
A tiered theatre with 486 seats, excellent lighting and sound, a green room and built-in stage, the Student Union Theater is well suited for lectures, movies, and plays.
Studios and Student Facilities
The Visual Arts Annex is a large shop for creation of all kinds of arts. It includes tools for sculpting, welding, woodworking, lithography, casting, ceramic firing, printmaking, intaglio, and relief printing.
Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music
The Greenwood School of Music is home to the music community at OSU and will include musical laboratories, classrooms, studios and rehearsal spaces.
