with President Kayse Shrum

Living the Code is a special video series presented by Dr. Kayse Shrum which showcases the stories of OSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and stakeholders who embody the Cowboy Code. The second episode of the series features alumna Carolina Yanez, a first-generation student who was inspired by her migrant parents to dream as big as the sky to achieve her goals. Yanez’s passion to do what’s right, even when it’s hard, led to her earning two degrees at OSU. She plans to use what she has learned in her time at OSU to give back to the community.

Human Performance and Nutrition Research Institute

OSU recently announced plans to build a state-of-the-art facility to serve as the headquarters of the new Human Performance and Nutrition Research Institute (HPNRI). HPNRI is a first-of-its-kind institute that will develop preventative therapeutic strategies to combat obesity and chronic disease as well as provide practical, research-based solutions with the goal of improving health outcomes across Oklahoma. The institute will be headquartered on Hall of Fame Avenue adjacent to the Sherman E. Smith Training Center.

Stephen Dubner, bestselling author and co-author of “Freakonomics,” will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural OSU Future of Work Summit Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.

OSU Opera Theatre to present Into the Woods Mar 17

Oklahoma State University Opera Theatre will present Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods on Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31, at The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts in Stillwater. The cast and orchestra are comprised of students from OSU’s Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music and the Department of Theatre.
