Who advances Oklahoma's economy?
Orange is the Answer
At Oklahoma State University, we understand workforce development is critical for
achieving economic growth. Investing in our students creates a competitive advantage
— for them and for our state. We are focused on educating future leaders and cultivating a talent pipeline in Oklahoma.
With learning resources such as the Oklahoma Aerospace for Research and Education,
the Hamm Institute for American Energy at OSU, and the OSU Center for Health Sciences,
OSU is uniquely positioned to deliver the highly-skilled workforce of the future,
from engineering, health care and information technology to aerospace, energy and
beyond.
Who is committed to evolving workplace development?
Orange is the Answer. At OSU, we provide solutions to pressing issues that affect today’s workforce. The
current economic landscape is driving change for the U.S. workforce and there is a
growing need for adaptability and forward-thinking. We are constantly researching
and implementing innovative, effective forms of learning and training to ensure our
students are prepared for their future careers. With industry experts coordinating
collaborative opportunities, such as the Workforce Summit, our faculty and staff are primed to help lead the way.
Who is focused on propelling our state forward?
Orange is the Answer. At OSU, we don't just dream as big as the sky, we get you there too. We recently
received a $450,000 Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers grant through the FAA to establish a sustainable training pipeline to bolster Oklahoma’s aviation maintenance
workforce. These maintenance professionals make up a significant sector of the aviation
and aerospace industry, which drives Oklahoma’s economic growth. By empowering a skilled
workforce, we are pushing aerospace forward in Oklahoma and beyond.
Who is invested in continued access to vital resources?
Orange is the Answer. At OSU, we want to ensure the water keeps running. The pool of professionals in charge of ensuring that clean water continues to flow is
drastically diminishing. According to the American Geoscience Institute, there are
currently more than 135,000 open positions in the industry. OSU is taking action to meet this need by partnering with the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) to create educational opportunities that will provide crucial training for these
positions. OSU recently hosted the Oklahoma Ground Water Association Annual Conference and Trade Show, which featured the new NGWA University Powered by
OSU. Our programs will give students an opportunity to learn the craft through experiential learning and
ultimately help address the projected shortfall of geoscience workers, improving access
to groundwater essential to our state.
Where can Oklahoma find the next technology leaders?
Orange is the Answer. In a world with ever-changing technology trends, the OSU App Center taps into a fountain
of creativity and innovation. The center focuses on providing students with the resources
to learn mobile app design and development in real-world scenarios. It also offers
them the opportunity to jump headfirst into their careers as they emerge from an environment
that mimics the industry itself — complete with app projects, clients and deliverables.
The app center is not only a great resource for students and external partners; It
also offers a launch point for students to enter the workforce and begin impactful
careers.
