Orange is the Answer

Oklahoma State University is leading the state in agricultural research and ensuring that our state will always have the resources to be on the cutting edge of agricultural education, technology and Extension services. As a land-grant institution, our research efforts through OSU Ag Research, OSU Extension and the Ferguson College of Agriculture result in science-based knowledge and technology developed to improve the lives of Oklahomans. It is a community effort — our research is a collaboration between farmers and ranchers, agricultural commodity groups, industry, state agencies and federal competitive grants.

Where can students become the future of the agriculture industry?

Orange is the Answer. The new home for the Ferguson College of Agriculture will strengthen OSU Agriculture’s research, teaching and Extension missions while addressing two key challenges: attracting and retaining scientific leaders, and equipping collaborative teams with state-of-the-art laboratory and field facilities. These new facilities are in progress and are slated to open in 2024.

Who helps Oklahoma farmers increase their yields?

Orange is the Answer. A hard red winter wheat variety called High Cotton is now available from OSU’s Wheat Improvement Team. With the release of this variety, Oklahoma producers now have access to the most advanced wheat genetics available on the market. The High Cotton wheat variety has high-performance potential with expected increased yield, resistance to wheat diseases and dual-purpose opportunities. Since 2000, OSU scientists have released 37 commercial wheat varieties, and more than 40% of wheat acreage in Oklahoma is planted with OSU-developed varieties.

Where can you find the latest in food safety and innovation?
