Human resources integration
The Human Resources integration is focused on reviewing workforce processes and policies with an eye toward greater alignment and efficiency across the OSU System. This work is intended to support a consistent, reliable employee and candidate experience while improving clarity and coordination within university operations.
Purpose of the integration
The goal of the Human Resources integration is to ensure appropriate resources are focused on areas of greatest need and that workforce systems are aligned across the OSU System. This work is designed to alleviate strain on existing systems and create a more consistent and supportive experience for employees.
How this work benefits the OSU system
Consistent application of workforce policies and processes strengthens the institution by reducing risk, improving clarity and supporting employee morale. Aligned systems help minimize operational challenges that can affect service delivery and create vulnerabilities across the system.
Engagement and input
Human Resources leadership has engaged campus HR teams, branch campus HR leads and college and division administrators through regular meetings and targeted listening sessions. These conversations are focused on understanding operational needs, identifying areas of misalignment and gathering input from those closest to the work.
Progress to date
- Ongoing meetings with University HR staff and branch campus HR leaders
- Regular engagement with College and Division Administrators
- Topic-specific listening sessions addressing recruitment, retention, classification, benefits, compliance and development
Branch institution engagement
Branch campus HR leaders are actively engaged in the integration effort and being reorganized into a central team. While the overall approach is systemwide, adaptations will be made where operational, regulatory or functional needs require flexibility across locations.
What to expect next
Human Resources will continue gathering input, reviewing processes and evaluating opportunities for alignment and organization design across the OSU System. Additional communication will be shared as the work progresses and future phases are identified.
