A Message from President Jim Hess


Oklahoma State University is engaged in a thoughtful, multi-year effort to better align and integrate key service functions across the OSU System. This work supports our shared mission to serve students, faculty, staff and communities across Oklahoma — and reflects our responsibility as a modern land-grant university to operate in ways that are effective, sustainable and responsive.

As higher education continues to evolve, we must also evolve how we work. Many administrative and operational services have developed over time to meet local needs. Today, new technologies and shared tools allow us to coordinate more effectively across campuses and departments while maintaining the local relationships and responsiveness that matter.

This integration effort is guided by OSU’s strategic planning efforts and is directly connected to the development of our next strategic plan. Together, these efforts focus on strengthening the university as one system — aligning expertise and resources so we can better support the student experience and position OSU for long-term success.

I am proud of the dedication and professionalism of our faculty and staff across the OSU System. This effort is about strengthening our ability to support your work and ensuring Oklahoma State University is prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Why integration matters

This initiative is about enhancing how we deliver support by working more cohesively across divisions and locations.
By aligning key functions, we can:

  • Reduce unnecessary duplication
  • Improve consistency and responsiveness
  • Use resources more effectively
  • Build systems that are easier to navigate and support

When we operate as a coordinated system, we are stronger, more resilient and better positioned to serve Oklahoma.

Our approach

Integration across the OSU System is unfolding in phases over multiple fiscal years. The work is being approached deliberately, with attention to operational continuity and the expertise of the people doing the work every day.
This process is guided by a commitment to:

  • Transparency — sharing information as planning and implementation progress
  • Collaboration — engaging faculty and staff and valuing their input
  • Respect — recognizing that change brings uncertainty and approaching this work with care and honesty

This website will serve as a central source of information about the OSU System integration effort and will be updated as work progresses. Faculty and staff are encouraged to return to this page for future updates and to continue engaging through existing leadership and through your supervisors.
As this multi-year effort continues, information will be shared in a timely and thoughtful manner to support transparency and understanding across the OSU System.

Integration efforts to date

Finance
The Finance integration is focused on improving processes and increasing efficiency to better support campuses, colleges and departments across the OSU System.
Human Resources
The Human Resources integration is focused on reviewing workforce processes and policies with an eye toward greater alignment and efficiency across the OSU System.
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications integration builds on the One Brand, One Team philosophy that has been developing across the OSU System.
