Middle Level Education

What is middle level education?

Empower lives through teaching grades 6-8 in your chosen subject of mathematics or science education.

Why middle level education at OSU?

Prepare to make a difference with OSU's program, which combines rigorous coursework with hands-on field experiences in local schools. Graduates are recommended for teacher certification in Oklahoma and are prepared for certification exams in other states, if applicable. OSU graduates are highly sought after and ready to create engaging and effective learning environments that help young adolescents thrive.

Mathematics

Be prepared to teach mathematics in grades 6-8 by completing in-depth study of mathematics concepts from algebra to calculus, in addition to adolescent development, learning theory, mathematics teaching methods and the meaningful use of instructional technology in the classroom.

Science

Be prepared to teach science in grades 6-8 by completing in-depth study of concepts from biology to earth science, in addition to adolescent development, learning theory. science training methods and the meaningful use of technology in the classroom.

Preparing for the Digital Classroom

You will gain in-depth knowledge of instructional methods, including teaching effectively with technology. We offer support for those pursuing Apple Teacher and Google Educator certifications, and we partner with the Emerging Technologies and Creativity Research Lab to explore imaginative ways to improve research, teaching and learning with emerging technologies.
