Master of Business Administration

The OSU Master of Business Administration (MBA) offers a creatively unique culture that mirrors the corporate world's collaborative environment while offering soft skill development that will set an OSU MBA graduate apart from the competition in the job market. According to post-graduation data gathered on nearly 90 percent of the 308 students who graduated with an MBA in 2017, 98.4 percent had employment, job offers or other plans within 3 months of graduation.

Curriculum

The MBA is a 33- to 36-hour program that can be completed in as few as 12 months. In addition to the general MBA, graduate certificate options can be woven into OSU's MBA curriculum to produce an area of preferred specialization.

Research and Faculty

MBA students have the opportunity to participate in the annual Big 12 Case Competition where they take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to real-world settings by analyzing, researching and generating business solutions in a competitive setting.

Admissions

Admission requirements:

  • OSU Graduate College Application
  • Unofficial transcripts for admission, official transcripts during 1st semester (transcripted transfer credits OK)
  • All persons for whom English is a second language are required to present proof of English competency
  • Resume (will be used to confirm work experience)
  • Personal Statement—Guidelines on FAQ list here
  • One of the following:
    • 3 years professional work or military experience
    • Master’s Degree, Terminal (PhD) or Professional Degree (MD, DO, DBA, JD, DVM, PharmD, etc.)
    • Graduate Entrance Exam (GMAT/GRE)
  • Two professional references - recommenders directly receive an e-mail from the Graduate College to submit the LOR on behalf of the applicant.

Application fee of $50 domestic (1 waived for alumni), $75 International

Application Deadlines:
  • Nov. 1 for Spring semester admission (Aug. 1 International Students)
  • June 1 for Fall semester admission (March 1 International Students) Scholarship Priority Consideration: April 15 regardless of the semester of admission and requires a completed MBA application.
GMAC/Kaplan Business Fundamentals
  • Encouraged for all applicants returning to higher education or wishing to level-up prior to starting coursework.
  • Required for applicants lacking quantitative education and/or experience at student expense ($199). In order to register for ACCT 5183 and/or MSIS 5303 the student will need to first complete the corresponding module in GMAC Business Fundamentals.
  • Finance module optional but encouraged later prior to starting FIN 5013.
  • Relevant course module may be required for program reinstatement requests.
GMAT/GRE required for:
  • 4+1 (4+1 agreements have a GMAT/GRE requirement).
  • Encouraged for all applicants returning to higher education or wishing to level-up prior to starting coursework.
  • Required for applicants lacking quantitative education and/or experience at student expense ($199). Initial advising hold removed once certificate of completion submitted to academic advisor.
Accounting and Statistics modules required:
  • Finance module optional but encouraged later prior to starting FIN 5013.
  • Relevant course module required for program reinstatement requests.

Cost & Assistance

Cost for each program will vary depending on credit-hours taken, scholarship funding, assistantships and financial aid. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to calculate eligibility for aid.
