Curriculum
One hundred six credit hours beyond bachelor's degree, including:
- Quantitative methods, research design, and teaching practicum
- Thesis (six credit hours)
- Dissertation (15 credit hours)
- Six clinical core courses
- History requirement
- Four additional elective courses, often within specialized track

by the American Psychological Association (APA). We are also accredited by Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System and we are a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science.
Research
Our program provides instruction, research training, and clinical supervision to develop competencies and skills in the scientifically informed practice of clinical psychology. You will be trained to function independently as a research scientist and to use scientific evidence in all phases of developing and applying clinical services.
Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree (psychology degree not required)
- Adequate preparation for graduate study in psychology recommended, including such courses as: introductory psychology, experimental psychology/research methods, and statistics/quantitative methods in psychology
- Applicants without recommended undergraduate psychology courses may apply, provided they have done outstanding work in related areas of study (completion of undergraduate courses after admission may be required)
- Minimum GPA of 3.3 preferred
- Three letters of reference
- Statement of purpose
- Writing sample from psychology course, convention or presentation that is representative of your writing abilities

Cost & Assistance
Since our graduate training programs aim at high-level professional training, we believe that every student should be provided with adequate financial support to complete the program. The department does not encourage graduate students to enroll in the program while supporting themselves with a job not associated with their academic pursuits. The department's goal is to provide financial support for all graduate students through teaching assistantships, research assistantships, fellowships, and traineeships. The department also helps students locate other sources to financially support their graduate training.
