Family Weekends

Family Weekends at OSU are a great time to visit your student on campus and spend some quality time together. We host two designated Family Weekends per year, with one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester. In the past, these were also called Dad’s Day or Mom’s Day which led to some confusion. We're all in the same Cowboy Family, so let’s make this easy. Family Weekends are for anyone you call family whether they're in the family group text or not.

Fall Family Weekend

September 18-20, 2026

Up-to-date Family Weekend activity information is below, but check back often. Multiple events will be added in late August through early September, after the beginning of the fall semester.

We look forward to having you on campus to celebrate the Cowboy Family!

Fall Family Weekend Activities

Friday, Sept. 18

  • Parent & Family Philanthropy Council Fall Meeting

    Time: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

    Location:

    Through philanthropic leadership, volunteer service, and strategic engagement, Parent and Family Philanthropy Council (PFPC) members provide valuable perspective, champion student-centered priorities, and help strengthen the OSU community, ensuring meaningful impact for students today and for generations to come. If you are interested in becoming involved with the PFPC, contact Olivia Trolinger.

  • Family Weekend Check-in

    Time: 12-7 p.m.

    Location: Campus Life Area, 211 Student Union

    Be sure to check-in during Family Weekend, to let us know you made it to the celebration!  Every family that checks in for Family Weekend will be entered into a drawing for two (2) free tickets to the Cowboy Basketball Bedlam Rivalry Doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

    Additionally, at check-in, you'll be able to:

    • Pick up pre-ordered Family Weekend t-shirts.
    • Get discount coupons and passes for use throughout the weekend.
    • Secure official Fall Family Weekend buttons.
    • Drop off donations of new or gently used professional clothing to help restock Claudia's Career Closet for OSU students in need of professional attire.
    • Get information and ask questions about Family Weekend activities.

  • Vision Board Workshop

    Time: 2-4 p.m.

    Location: Seretean Wellness Center Lecture Hall, Rm 102

    Bring your family and join the Department of Wellness for a fun and inspiring Vision Board Workshop, complete with finger foods and meaningful connection. Limited to 50 participants. Sign up before the spots are taken!

  • Third Friday @ OSU Museum of Art

    Time: 4-6 P.M. (Museum opens at 11 A.M.)

    Location: OSU Museum of Art, 720 S. Husband St.

    Kick off your Third Friday Downtown at OSU Museum of Art! Explore the galleries after hours, shop work by 8 OSU Student-Made creators, decorate a tote bag, and learn about the OSU Student Arts Advisory Committee.

  • Family Movie Night - The Outsiders

    Time: 7-9 P.M.

    Location: Student Union Theater, Room 203

    Gather your family and join us in the Student Union Theater for a family-friendly indoor movie  night. Popcorn, some snacks, and water provided. Feel free to bring your favorite movie treat. Seating available on a first-come basis. Location changed to indoors due to weather concerns.

  • Family Game Night

    Time: 7-9 P.M.

    Location: Campus Life Area, 211 Student Union

    Nothing builds the bond of family more than some friendly competition! Join other friends and Cowboy family members for rounds of your favorite games. From Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble to Uno and Yatzee, there's something for everyone!

  • Stillwater Community Activities

    Time: All Day

    Location: Various locations

    From a farmers market and pumpkin patch to live music and art exhibits, the Stillwater community always has a variety of events and activities happening. Be sure to explore the different ways you can spend quality time with your student(s) in the Stillwater community during Family Weekend at through VisitStillwater.org.

Fraternity and Sorority Chapter Family Weekend Activities

  • Alpha Gamma Rho Dads' Day
    • Saturday, Sept. 19 | 9:30 A.M.-3 P.M.
    • AGR House and The Salty Bronc
    • Family and guests are invited for coffee and donuts at the AGR house, followed by lunch and more quality time at The Salty Bronc before the Cowboy football game.
    • Limited to family and invited guests of AGR members.
  • Chi Omega Dads' Day
    • Friday, Sept. 18 | 6-8 P.M.
    • Saturday, Sept. 19 | 11 A.M.-2 P.M.
    • Chi Omega House
    • Chi Omega dads and family are invited to join their members at the house for a weekend of food, games, and time together.
    • Limited to family and guests of Chi Omega members.
  • Kappa Alpha Theta Dads' Day
    • Saturday, Sept. 19 | 10 A.M.-12 P.M. and 2-4:30 P.M.
    • Kappa Alpha Theta House and The Hub Stillwater
    • Family and guests are encouraged to join their members for bowling and corn hole at the Hub Stillwater and vendors and activities at the Kappa Alpha Theta house.
    • Limited to family and guests of Kappa Alpha Theta members.
  • Phi Kappa Tau Dads' Day
    • Saturday, Sept. 19 | 9:45 A.M. - Kick-off
    • Phi Kappa Tau House & The Hub
    • The members of Phi Kappa Tau will host family and guest for donuts and pictures, trivia, a parents’ meeting, a raffle, and lunch, followed by hanging out at the HUB and the Phi Tau tailgate at 3 p.m.
    • Limited to family and guests of Phi Kappa Tau members.
  • Phi Mu Dads' Day
    • Saturday, Sept. 19 | 12-3 P.M.
    • Phi Mu House
    • Family of Phi Mu members are invited to join their members for picture opportunities, yard games and catered food at  the  Phi Mu house.
    • Limited to family and guests of Phi Mu members.



Spring Family Weekend

Dates for Spring 2027 Family Weekend are still being considered and will be announced during the fall semester. Please stay tuned to the Cowboy Family Portal for the latest information.
