Steps to Apply

2. Gather and submit your documents

   To complete your application, you'll need:

   • An official transcript from each college or university you've attended. More about submitting official documents. 
   • If you have completed fewer than 24 college-level credit hours, you also need to provide an official high school transcript showing GPA and class rank (if available).
     • OSU uses the highest cumulative GPA (weighted or unweighted based on a 4.0 scale) indicated on the student's official high school transcript for admission and scholarship purposes. GPAs not using a 4.0 scale will be converted to a 4.0 scale. 
     • If you are currently enrolled for fall at another institution and are applying to attend OSU the following summer or fall semester, you'll need to provide an official transcript with your completed grades for the current semester before the OSU application can be reviewed for admission. Please contact your current institution at the end of the fall semester to send your updated transcript to OSU.
   • If your ACT and/or SAT scores aren't on your high school transcript, you'll need to provide an official copy, unless you indicate you're applying as test optional on your admissions application. OSU's official codes are 3424 (ACT) and 6546 (SAT). 
   • If applicable, submit AP/CLEP/IB test scores to receive college credit. More about college credit by examination.

4. Pay $50 application fee (or submit fee waiver)

   OSU accepts application fee waivers from ACT, SAT and NACAC. We also accept application fee waivers for students based on demonstrated need. You can forward your application fee waiver by email or mail. The application fee is nonrefundable.

5. Apply for federal financial aid

   When you apply to OSU, you're automatically considered for scholarships. Once available, OSU encourages all students to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using OSU's school code of 003170 to maximize scholarship and financial aid opportunities. 

   If you live in a participating southern state, you may qualify for in-state tuition through the Academic Common Market.
