For maximum scholarship consideration, you should complete your application, including the leadership and involvement resume, and submit test scores, before the Nov. 1 Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline. Learn more about completing your file. 

Once admitted, your $300 enrollment deposit secures your spot at OSU and allows you to register for housing and orientation and enrollment in the spring. Room assignments will be based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit. 

Students who are eligible for a Pell Grant as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will complete the online process and may have the enrollment deposit deferred. Your enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until May 1.

Once you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for housing and apply for one of our Living Learning Programs.

You'll select your housing preferences at this time, and we'll begin making room assignments in the spring based on your preferences and the date/time you submitted your enrollment deposit. Explore your living options.

Once you've submitted your enrollment deposit, it's time to register for your required orientation and enrollment session. Sessions begin in late spring and run through the summer. During your session, you'll meet with academic advisors, confirm your academic college and major, enroll in classes, meet other new students and learn about campus resources.

Housing assignments will begin in mid-March for first-time freshmen who meet the March 1 Priority Housing Registration Deadline. Those who meet the deadline are more likely to be paired with their preferred roommate.

Those who attend an Admitted Student Day event (in person or virtual) and register for housing by the March 1 priority deadline will be at the top of the housing assignment placement list.

Please note, those who register for housing after this deadline can still create a roommate pair but are less likely to be paired with their preferred roommate.

Room assignments start in the spring and continue through the summer. Your assignment is based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit.

Housing assignments will begin in mid March for first-time freshmen who meet the March 1 Priority Housing Registration Deadline. Those who registered after March 1 will receive their housing assignment on a weekly, rolling basis throughout the summer.

We encourage you to submit your enrollment deposit and register for housing and orientation by May 1.

Some scholarships and financial aid must be accepted by May 1 or they will be canceled.

Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by May 1 to cancel your enrollment and receive a partial refund ($250) of your enrollment deposit.
