Micro-credentials
Early childhood education students completing courses HDFS 3213 (Literacy Development in Early Childhood Education) and HDFS 3024 (Literacy Assessment and Instruction) will earn the Science of Reading (SoR) micro-credential alongside their degree.
Badge holders will be trained in the Science of Reading (SoR), which is an Oklahoma State requirement for all teacher candidates, as well as current teachers in the field. (HB 362; Strong Readers Act). With this knowledge, badge holders will be able to utilize science-based literacy instruction in their own classrooms.
Accelerated Master's Program
Earn both an early childhood education bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years through our accelerated program.
