Master's in Applied Statistics 

The M.S. in Applied Statistics is a 32-credit hour degree. It is available entirely online or in person, and is intended for working professionals. The degree focuses more on the analysis of data and less on the mathematical underpinnings of statistics.

The M.S. in Applied Statistics is a 32-credit hour degree.  It is available entirely online or in person, and is intended for working professionals.  The degree focuses more on the analysis of data and less on the mathematical underpinnings of statistics.

Requirements include:

  • Core courses in experimental data analysis, analytics, statistical programming with SAS and R, and mathematical statistics
  • Capstone course where you’ll apply your knowledge

The Department of Statistics has internationally recognized research programs in high-dimensional data analysis, multiple comparisons, design of experiments, biostatistics, bioinformatics, genetic statistics, Bayesian statistics and many more. Our graduates are well employed in academics and industry.

Admissions Requirements

  • Transcripts (including courses in calculus of several variables)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
  • Supplemental form (accessible after submission)
  • Application Due Dates:
    • Domestic applications are due by July 1 (Fall entry), November 1 (Spring entry)
    • International application are due by July 1(Fall entry), November 1 (Spring entry)
    • Fall applicants wishing to remediate background deficiencies in the Summer prior to entry should contact the graduate coordinator

Test Scores:

  • GRE
  • TOEFL or IELTS English proficiency scores for international applicants who are not native English speakers
