About Jason Ramsey

Jason Ramsey serves as the senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Oklahoma State University System, appointed by OSU President Jim Hess in October 2025.
In this role, Ramsey provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across
the OSU System, supporting institutional excellence, governance and alignment with
state and national priorities.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education administration and public service,
Ramsey has built a distinguished career marked by visionary leadership, legislative
success and institutional advancement. Before his current role, he served as chief
executive officer and board secretary for the OSU/A&M Board of Regents for 13 years,
where he directed the Executive Office, Legal Counsel, Internal Audit and Public Policy
divisions. His tenure included leading presidential searches, managing crisis response,
and advising university presidents and board members through periods of transition
and growth.
Ramsey’s earlier roles include director of state government relations and policy analyst
for the OSU/A&M Regents. His accomplishments in these roles include securing record
appropriations for higher education, advocating for major capital investments and
the creation of the OSU Medical Authority. Early in his career, Ramsey served on the
staffs of former Gov. Frank Keating and former U.S. Sen. Don Nickles.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a
Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Oklahoma State University. Ramsey grew
up in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and is a lifelong Cowboy. He is married to Natalie Ramsey,
a fellow OSU graduate, and they have two children.
