Cowboys come together to support OSU COVID-19 testing lab

Oklahoma State University’s entry into the fight against COVID-19 more than doubled Oklahoma’s testing capacity. While the partnership between OSU Medicine in Tulsa and the OSU Diagnostic Laboratory on the Stillwater campus made it possible, volunteers paved OSU’s path into the fray.
When the vice president for research sent out a campuswide survey seeking individuals interested in working in the lab, the response was immediate — and overwhelming. More than 150 people from all corners of the campus volunteered to serve.
Rank and seniority were forgotten. New friendships were forged between departments. From creating processes and procedures to giving up nights with family to test samples, the volunteers have embodied the spirit of being a Cowboy.
