Now she’s equipped to compete in life.

The Tulsa native began riding horses when she was 7. Addie Minnick's skills earned her a college scholarship on OSU’s equestrian team that gave her a top education while continuing her passion for horses.

Addie’s long days began at 6 a.m. with workouts, practices, classes, tutoring and community outreach with organizations such as Our Daily Bread, Meals on Wheels and the Humane Society of Stillwater. Through hard work and dedication, Addie helped her team win the Big 12 Championship as a freshman and junior. She also served as team captain during her senior year. She graduated with a business management bachelor’s degree in December 2018 and an MBA in December 2019 with a 3.7 GPA.

“Being a student-athlete was such a good experience,” she said. “The challenges it comes with taught me discipline and built my character. I think it will help me a lot later in life. Coach (Larry) Sanchez always said, ‘We want to make you better people as you go through your four years with us’ and I think it truly made me into a better person at the end of it all.”

That’s how we build Cowboys.
